What Makes NewStart Different?

Quick Fact

For insurance purposes, write a description of how morbid obesity decreases the quality of your life. Be sure to include details such as difficulty walking, socializing, or maintaining personal hygiene. This documentation can be useful for your weight loss surgery program and health insurance company.

NewStart is a comprehensive, patient-centered program. The NewStart team is with you every step of the way, from assistance with insurance approvals to pre-surgical counseling to post-surgical recovery and support. One surgery does not fit all. With the entire NewStart team at your disposal, we will find the solution that is best for you. And we will work with you to help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight for the rest of your life.

Weight loss surgery is synonymous with change: physical, social, and emotional. As a weight loss surgery patient, not only will your body change, but so will your attitudes about food, eating behaviors and self-image. Your relationships with family, friends and co-workers may also change.

We address every issue you are likely to face in the months and years after surgery. Our support groups provide emotional support and post-operative education to help ensure your long-term weight loss success.

Memorial Hermann Bariatric Programs (Memorial City, Southeast, Sugar Land, The Woodlands Medical Center or Texas Medical Center) are certified by either ASMBS or ACS. However, patients should request a physician’s personal certification, if any, and their experience and qualifications before proceeding with any bariatrics procedure.
