Designations and Accreditations

All NewStart facilities have been accredited by MBSAQIP (Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program), a combined quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

Memorial Hermann bariatric programs at Memorial City Medical Center, Southeast Hospital, Sugar Land Hospital, The Woodlands Medical Center, Cypress Hospital and Texas Medical Center have achieved MBSAQIP Comprehensive Center accreditation certified by ACS. However, patients may request a physician’s personal certification, if any, and their experience and qualifications before proceeding with any bariatrics procedure.
